Dr. DeMasi is originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia. She played Field Hockey during college at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). After earning her BS degree, she completed medical school at VCU School of Medicine where she earned AOA during her fourth year. Dr. DeMasi completed Residency at University of Alabama at Birmingham. Following residency, she completed a Fellowship in Clinical Ultrasound and Resuscitation at VCU, served as a co-investigator on several multicenter clinical trials, and took courses for a Masters in Clinical and Translational Science. She has won several meaningful awards both in residency and fellowship including, Resident of the Year (2021), Teacher of the Year (2023), Golden Apple Teaching Award given to faculty in top 15% of resident evaluations (2023), and SAEM AEUS Fellow Research Award (2023). Dr. DeMasi is joining faculty under the Division of Research and is interested in the conduct of emergency-critical care clinical trials. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband.
