Sean grew up in Longview, Washington. He graduated summa cum laude from Pacific Lutheran University. He received his medical degree from Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2017 and completed his Emergency Medicine Residency training at Stony Brook University Hospital, serving as Chief Resident in 2020. He joined Vanderbilt faculty as a Global Health Fellow, working in resident education at Georgetown Public Hospital in Guyana, South America while pursuing a Master's in Public Health and completing the Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene at the Gorgas Institute in Lima, Peru. His areas of academic interest are Emergency Medicine development and education, simulation, humanitarian aid, and tropical diseases. On days off, Sean enjoys volleyball, basketball, playing board games, and exploring the outdoors with his wife Chrissy.
