Dr. Sean Boaglio grew up in the Pacific Northwest, in the small town of Longview, Washington. He graduated summa cum laude from Pacific Lutheran University and received his medical degree from Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2017. Dr. Boaglio completed his Emergency Medicine Residency training at Stony Brook University Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident in 2020.
Following residency, Dr. Boaglio completed a Global Emergency Medicine fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His focus has been on emergency medicine post-graduate education and development in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Mozambique. In addition to his fellowship, he earned a Master of Applied Science in Humanitarian Health from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the Gorgas Institute in Lima, Peru.
Dr. Boaglio's areas of academic interest include Emergency Medicine development and education, simulation and procedural education, critical care, humanitarian health, and tropical medicine. When not working in medicine, he spends his time hiking with his dog, skiing, traveling, and is always down for a nerdy board game.
