Ryan Fritz was born and raised in New York. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Systems Engineering and spent several years working in management consulting before pursuing a career in medicine. He attended Vanderbilt for medical school, business school, and emergency medicine residency where he subsequently served as chief resident and stayed on as faculty. Ryan and his wife Cristin spent two years in Colorado while she completed a pediatrics fellowship before they both eagerly returned to Nashville and Vanderbilt University Medical Center (Cristin is a hospitalist at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital). Ryan's professional interests include hospital operations, clinical education, and career mentoring of medical students and residents. When not working, Ryan enjoys spending his time with Cristin and their dog Zoey. His personal interests include travel, cooking, skiing, photography, music, and college sports (go 'Hoos!).
