Dr. Blankenship grew up admiring Vanderbilt from his hometown an hour north of Nashville in Scottsville, KY. He attended the University of Kentucky for both his undergraduate and medical degrees. After medical school, he continued in Lexington for residency where he served as a chief resident in his final year of training. In 2023 he began his global emergency medicine fellowship at Vanderbilt University. He hopes to focus on improving the delivery of high-quality healthcare to underserved populations internationally through our incredible Guyana partnership and locally within the Nashville community.

In his free time, he enjoys live music, reading fiction novels, traveling to new places, tennis, golf, and anything involving a boat.
