Anything in the great outdoors: hiking, kayaking, paddle-boarding, biking, cliff jumping, rock climbing, or canyoneering. I enjoy sports and I am happiest on a beach with a volleyball. I spend as much time with my cat and always ready to join anyone on a dog-walk.
Why did you choose VUMC Emergency Medicine?
I was lucky to get a sneak peek of VUMC on an away rotation and immediately fell in love with the program. It was clear every resident here is family, and readily accepting of new-comers even as a visiting student. Additionally, the training here is exceptional. The attending physicians are eager and enthusiastic to teach, the residents take any spare minute to add in a learning moment (and were so knowledgeable often sounded like they were reciting from a textbook), and the patients brought in so much complexity and diversity. I knew VUMC would prepare me to be the best physician, educator, and human I can be.

What's your 5-year plan?
Currently I am interested in pursuing a PEM fellowship. I would love to be able to work a hybrid schedule between academics and community. For now I am keeping my eyes wide open and hoping to soak everything I can from Vanderbilt to help me develop my passions in EM.
