Tara Overbeeke received both undergraduate and medical degrees from Washington University in St. Louis. She then completed her residency in emergency medicine at Vanderbilt University and served as chief resident. Her academic interests include women in emergency medicine and faculty wellness. She co-created the group Women in Academic Emergency Medicine (WAM!), a group of Vanderbilt female emergency medicine attendings, fellows, and residents that meets regularly to discuss issues specific to females in medicine. She is also a member of the EM Faculty Wellness Committee and serves as a VU Wellness Champion. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, gardening, and taking care of the animals on their mini-farm including goats, sheep, and chickens.
