Dr. Swarm is an Indiana native who joined as Vanderbilt Emergency Medicine faculty in July of 2016. Dr. Swarm completed his undergraduate work at Indiana University-Bloomington followed by his medical training at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Swarm stayed at IU and completed a combined Emergency Medicine/Pediatrics residency where he served as chief resident during his fifth year. Since joining the faculty at Vanderbilt, Dr. Swarm has completed a focused faculty fellowship in point-of-care ultrasound. Dr. Swarm splits his time between the adult and pediatric emergency departments at Vanderbilt. Dr. Swarm's professional interests include pediatric emergency medicine, residency leadership, and point-of-care ultrasound. Outside of medicine, Dr. Swarm enjoys spending time with his wife and dogs, being outdoors, international travel, personal fitness, boating, and college athletics.
