Dr. Marissa Kopatic grew up in Austin, Texas and received her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. She completed her residency training at the University of Virginia, where she served as Chief Resident. She then completed a fellowship in Medical Toxicology at the University of Virginia. In addition to her appointment with the Department of Emergency Medicine, she is a consulting Toxicologist and Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Clinical Pharmacology. Dr. Kopatic currently serves as the Managing Director of the Tennessee Poison Center. Her academic interests include medical education and cardiac sensitization
