Dr. Jenkins was born and raised in a rural area in Middle Tennessee. After graduating from Portland High School, he attended East Tennessee State University, graduating with a BA in Economics and Chemistry. He then took an interim detour getting a Master of Arts in Ministry from Freed-Hardeman University before graduating from the Quillen College of Medicine at ETSU. Dr. Jenkins participated in the Air Force Health Professions Scholarship Program during medical school, and after completing his emergency medicine residency at East Carolina University spent three years at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS. He returned to Middle Tennessee working at multiple community hospitals in the area since 2009. Dr. Jenkins completed his MBA at the Pfeffer School of Business at Lipscomb University in 2022. Dr. Jenkins is dedicated to community emergency medicine and especially enjoys caring for the elderly. Outside of work, he is a dedicated husband and father of two boys who enjoys traveling with his family, reading, walking his dog, and watching sports.
