Dr. Korson grew up in Klamath Falls, Oregon, and ever since leaving, he’s lived all around the United States. He went to undergrad at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO, then later spent a year doing human toxicology research for the EPA in Durham, NC. He then matriculated at Creighton University School of Medicine where he spent time both at the Omaha and Phoenix Regional Campuses. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem, PA. During his final year, Dr. Korson made the decision to pursue advanced training in Addiction Medicine to better care for patients suffering from substance use disorders. He was beyond excited to receive the news that he’d be heading to Nashville for fellowship at VUMC and is this year’s Addiction Medicine Fellow in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases.

Outside of work, Dr. Korson is a fitness enthusiast, participating in Brazilian Jiu jitsu, strength training, running, cycling, and is always on the lookout for new outdoor adventures. Additionally, he enjoys reading, writing (with former publications on Kevinmd.com and STAT news), cooking, and hanging out with friends and family. He’s looking forward to exploring all the fun that Nashville has to offer and is thrilled to call Tennessee his new home.
