Residency, University of Chicago Emergency Medicine 2008 M.D., Meharry Medical College 2004 Dr. Nicholas Strane comes to Vanderbilt University Medical Center bringing 12 years of clinical and administrative experience in the Nashville medical community. He was medical director of the NorthCrest Medical Center emergency department for 5 years as well as Robertson County EMS director. Most recently, he was the director of StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna, TN helping to build a great team of physician and midlevel providers who led Tristar in patient satisfaction and core measures during his tenure. His academic interest includes health disparities and travel medicine. Dr. Strane is a graduate of the University of Chicago Emergency Medicine Residency program where he served as chief resident in his third year. Prior to joining U of C, he completed a surgical residency internship at The University of Massachusetts School of Medicine. Dr. Strane is a graduate of Meharry Medical College. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of California at Berkeley. Nick and his wife Julie have three school age children and have lived in Nashville since 2008.
