Dr. Crook attended medical school at the East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine. He then completed an emergency medicine residency at the University of Kentucky, where he also served as a chief resident. After an intervening period of a couple of years in academic and community practice, he decided to complete a subspecialty fellowship in emergency medical services (EMS) at the University of Cincinnati. Pre-hospital emergency services and EMS are a long-standing passion of Dr. Crook's and are a principal professional interest. Growing up in Rutherford county, he served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT prior to medical school, and he continues to volunteer his time as a firefighter and rescue technician locally in his time off. He also enjoys travel, shooting sports, and kayaking.
