Why did you choose VUMC Emergency Medicine?
Education, education, education! On interview day, I realized just how pivotal education is to VUMC Emergency Medicine. In addition to hands-on learning, Vanderbilt EM teaches you the how and why behind what you are doing. Each attending I have worked with genuinely cares about my education and there is lots of teaching on shift that occurs. Out of all of the places I interviewed, I thought Vandy EM had the strongest emphasis on education and would challenge me intellectually to be the best provider after residency is over.
What are your interests within Emergency Medicine?
Injury Prevention, Education, & Global Health
What would you be doing if you weren't doing Emergency Medicine?
If I wasn't an emergency medicine doctor, I'd be a florist! The creativity that goes into flower arranging that turns into a beautiful creation can brighten anyone's day.
What's your 5-year plan?
First goal: learn a whole lot in my remaining 2 years and 10 months of residency LOL. Then hopefully pursue a fellowship within EM. It's a bit early to know at this point but the world is my oyster, so they say
What's a random fact about you?
