Why did you choose VUMC Emergency Medicine?
From the pre-interview dinner, I knew right away the residents at VUMC were like family. I conversed with residents and significant others and couldn't tell a difference of who was a resident and who wasn't! Additionally, I was going to get a world class education and work with very sick patients in a busy emergency room. I felt that Vanderbilt was the whole package.
What are your interests within Emergency Medicine?
Medical education, wilderness medicine, ultrasound
What would you be doing if you weren't doing Emergency Medicine?
I would open up my own coffee shop! Or become a marine biologist and work with sharks.
What's your 5-year plan?
I hope to be able to split my time practicing medicine between an academic and a community setting. I also picture having another dog.
What's a random fact about you?
I was a Division I NCAA swimmer for San Diego State University and the University of Utah!
