Why did you choose VUMC  Emergency Medicine?

When I came for my interview everyone was so welcoming and I could feel the camaraderie between them. The attendings were very friendly and they had a great working relationship with the residents (this still holds true). I felt that the residency program would be an incredible learning opportunity with the diversity within the patient population and high volume. Vanderbilt also offers many other exciting opportunities such as flying with LifeFlight and participating in Global Health, both of which contributed to my decision to come to Vanderbilt. Nashville is also a super cool city with a lot to do in the city as well as exploring the outdoors just outside of the city.

What are your interests within Emergency Medicine?

wilderness medicine, sports medicine, event medicine, global health

What would you be doing if you weren't doing Emergency Medicine?

Ski bum...maybe ski patrol to at least have money to pay my bills

What's your 5-year plan?

Possibly a fellowship and then after that I could see myself at a rural mountain hospital serving the local community as well as spending part of my time at an academic center.

What's a random fact about you?

I was one of the background actors on the TV show Superstore
