Why did you choose VUMC Emergency Medicine?
The people you learn from at VUMC are world class, but the Vanderbilt attitude is always "What can we learn from this? How can we do better?" I loved that culture and really connected with both attendings and residents during interviews despite the new virtual format. The camaraderie and family feel are even more evident now that I'm here in person. I also appreciated the high acuity, high volume training environment that draws from such a wide catchment area.
What are your interests within Emergency Medicine?
Ultrasound, critical care, global health, medical education
What would you be doing if you weren't doing Emergency Medicine?
Veterinarian or programmer/coder
What's your 5-year plan?
I completed a PM&R residency prior to starting emergency medicine training so I'm hoping to combine my EM and PM&R skill sets. Also adopt a puppy.
What's a random fact about you?
Orlando Bloom bought me my first glass of champagne.
He was filming a movie in Durham and was at the same restaurant where my friends and I were celebrating my 21st birthday. He very graciously bought our table champagne.
