 Improving Heart Failure Risk Stratification in the ED is an NIH funded, multi-center trial to determine a risk stratification model for patients who present to the ED with signs and symptoms of heart failure.

Decide is a part of Stratify that looks at outcomes and endpoints of care.

There is an additional 12-24 hr & 72-96 hr visit if still in hospital.

 Geriatric Studies

This research of Dr. Han involves survey assessments of patients over 65 years that present to the ED with injury or illness.   This is a non-therapeutic study.

This is a non-therapeutic, prospective trial of patients who present to the ED in Atrial Fib or Atrial Flutter. The study is to develop a risk stratification model for AFib/flutter to improve patient outcomes.

This is a multi-center trial conducted by Infectious Disease with the CDC. CTAs will enroll subjects to determine vaccine effectiveness to prevent pneumonia. Non-therapeutic study with specimen’s collection.

 Attitudes towards Robots in the ED

This is a survey study of health care workers, patients and visitors to assess their willingness and trust of robot assistants in the ED.

 Exploring Perceptions of     Robot  Co-workers

This is a qualitative study using focus groups of of health care workers in the ED to determine their perceptions of robot assistants in the ED environment.

 Breaking Barriers

This pilot study consists of a series of surveys on motivation, health literacy, and disease knowledge and of patients who present to the adult ED for care.

This is a robot prototype development in collaboration with the school of engineering. ED nurses and physicians evaluate the robot.

 Therapeutic Heart Failure Studies

These are therapeutic, interventional trials for patients who present to the ED in acute heart failure exacerbations. The trials involve the administration of medication to treat acute heart failure.
