Dr. Brywczynski attended Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, and completed a residency in emergency medicine at Vanderbilt University. He is currently an assistant professor of emergency medicine, assistant medical director of Life Flight, and assistant medical director of the Nashville Fire Department. His research interests include the use of near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) in predicting morbidity and mortality in trauma patients, EMS performance measures, penetrating neck trauma, and early goal directed therapy in sepsis.
Dr. Brywczynski is married to Cammi Maher whom he met in the emergency department. They were wed in St. Augustine, Florida, in September 2008.
